Located some 81km to the east of Bangkok, the Province of Chonburi has more than 100km of coastline covering 10 districts. Along the coastline are magnificent beaches—Bangsaen, Sriracha and Pattaya to name just a few—and spectacular scenic surroundings making it a prime tourist destination. Chonburi is also a fast-developing industrial and commercial center with significant contribution from land-based agricultire, aquaculture and ports. Hence, the stakeholders in Chonburi are promoting the sustainable use of their marine resources by establishing an integrated management approach to economic development and human activities in the coastal area.
