Vietnam is bordered to the north by PR China and to the west by Lao PDR and Cambodia. It has a land area of 329,247 km2 and a population of 83.6 million.

With the rapid urbanization are problems of deforestation, the project on the Development of models on socialization of urban tree planting in Danang City is both an initiative to enhance the urban environment, mitigate urban pollution and prevent the damaging impact of flooding in the City. The project targets the urban greening in six main streets in urban districts, six residential areas, near a factory, seven schools in six urban districts and Hoa Vang district and the coastal area near Nguyen Tat Thanh. The tree planting initiative is done through the active involvement of various stakeholders in local government units, related organizations, community-based organizations and residents in planting, caring and protecting the reforested areas. Tree planting activities also serve as an information and public awareness campaigns for students and community members.
