Celebrating Earth Day amidst COVID-19

In line with the global celebration of World Wetlands Day, the Philippines has declared 02 February 2012 as National Wetlands Day, where all sectors of society are encouraged to conduct activities to promote the conservation of wetlands.

This year's theme for the celebration is "Wetlands and Tourism." The Government of the Philippines, through the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and in cooperation with its partners, are conducting a string of activities to highlight the importance of wetlands, and good practices being done to preserve this important ecosystem.
